iOS 18’s Overhauled Calculator App Now Includes Conversion Features

Apple launched iOS 18 in September.A week earlier,Apple announced the iPhone 16 lineup and the Apple Watch Series 10.They also introduced other products at the’Glowtime’event.

This update adds many new features to your iPhone. You can now customize your home screen more and hide or lock apps.

One of the best new features is the conversion function in the Calculator app. This lets you convert units like currency, temperature, and weight right in the app.You no longer need to use a browser or Spotlight for this.

Here’s a quick guide to using the Calculator app for fast conversions:

How to Use Yourios 18 calculator for Conversions

1.Open the Calculator app on your iPhone.

2.Tap the calculator icon located in the bottom left, next to the‘0’digit.

3.Turn on conversion mode by tapping the switch next to“Convert.”

When you turn on conversion mode, the top of the calculator screen will split into two fields. One field is for the value you enter, and the other shows the converted result.By default, your input enters the top field, and the bottom shows the converted unit. You can switch the input direction by tapping the arrows next to the values.

  Selecting Conversion Units

To change what you’re converting, such as distance, currency,or weight:

1.Tap the value indicator to the right of either the top or bottom field.

2.A menu will appear, allowing you to search for different units. You can type directly in the search bar or scroll through the unit categories like Area,Currency,or Weight.

After you select the unit you want to convert from(e.g.,Gram),you will return to the main Calculator screen. Now,tap the value indicator next to the other field and select the unit you want to convert to(e.g.,Pounds).

For example,if you’re working with a recipe that calls for 500 grams of pasta, you can quickly convert it to pounds(approximately 1.1 pounds)with the Calculator app.
